Motherwell's weekend arrests

Police have confirmed that two would-be car thieves have been arrested after police swooped in Motherwell.

The pair who are 23 and 29 years-old were stopped at Bellshill Road on Friday (April 16)

The older man was also charged for being in possession of a substance thought to be a controlled drug.Officers made another arrest on Saturday (April 17) when they stopped a 40- year-old man in the town's Watling Street in relation to road traffic offences including drink driving and driving with no insurance.

He was also charged with allegedly being in possession of a substance believed to be a controlled drug

Reports on the above have been sent to the procurator fiscal in Hamilton.
