Police appeal after teenage girl grabbed by man in Springburn Park

Police are appealing for information after a man grabbed a teenage girl as she walked in Springburn Park.

The terrifying incident happened around 9pm on Saturday, April 17.

The man, dressed in black clothing and wearing a balaclava, grabbed a 16-year-old girl as she walked through Springburn Park near to the boating pond.

The girl managed to escape and called police.

“Detective Sergeant Larry Dempsey at Maryhill CID said: “This was a very frightening experience for the young teenage girl. It is vital we trace the man responsible and we are reviewing any available CCTV in area.

Anyone with info should contact police at Maryhill via 101 quoting incident number 4445 of 17 April. Alternatively calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
