Police appeal to trace attacker

Police Scotland detectives investigating a serious assault on the southside are renewing their efforts with a fresh appeal to the public for help.

Officers, with the permission of the Crown Office have now released an image of a man they would like to speak to after a 20 year old woman was assaulted in Pollokshaws Road near to Allison St, Govanhill, around 5.45pm on Thursday, February 21.

The man in the image is described as of being Asian in appearance, around 5’11 tall, of thin build, and aged in his early 20s. The individual had black hair, a black beard and moustache and spoke with a Glaswegian accent. At the time of the assault he was wearing a green beanie hat, dark jacket, dark trousers and black shoes.

Officers are appealing for any information or for anyone who recognises the man to contact Greater Glasgow Public Protection Unit, Helen Street, Glasgow, via 101, quoting reference number 3741 of the 21 February 2019. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be provided anonymously.
