Premises in Kilsyth and Cumbernauld fall prey to break-ins

A trio of thieves stole two off-road bikes with a combined value of £7000 and were seen on CCTV wheeling their ill-gotten gains down the road.

The incident unfolded after a shed in Kilsyth’s Barrie Place was plundered between 2.30am and 4.30am on Friday (November 13).

The thieves were caught on camera nearby with the stolen goods in hand. Police have confirmed that one of the bikes has been recovered but the matter does not end there.

For they have revealed that this incident may also be linked to a break-in to an industrial unit in the town’s Garrell Road around 2.40am and 3.45am on the same day.

Officers said they did not want to reveal what was stolen from the premises at this stage.

Anyone with information or who has seen the missing bike is asked to call 101 quoting crime number NC01531120.

Meanwhile, in a more recent break-in, the Tryst Centre had its doors forced open as raiders tried to gain access to the premises on Monday (November 16).

Officers said that the incident occurred around 1.20am, but the move backfired after the actions of the thieves activated an alarm. They fled the scene before the police arrived but Cumbernauld Centre would be the next place to be targeted

Here too, doors were forced open and a cash register was taken from one of the stalls within the mall. Police rushed to the scene and found the cash register dumped nearby.

Again CCTV has been scrutinised and revealed two younger figures running from the scene in dark clothing.
