Topless man found lying on the ground in Cumbernauld Centre lashed out at officers
Reports of a shirtless man lying on the ground outside the TSB premises in Cumbernauld Centre led to a challenging callout for the officers who caught up with him on Sunday (January 30)
When police arrived on the scene at 8.30pm, it is alleged that the man turned nasty and became abusive and aggessive to the officers involved.
Reinforcement were called for and when the man was informed of his arrest he struggled with officers, pulling away from them and shouting and swearing. When he was restrained, the physical struggle continued as the man pulled his hands away from those trying to hold him.
It also is alleged that he shouted “Allah Akbar” repeatedly and spat in the direction fo officers.
The 32 year old male was arrested and held in custody to attend court at a later date.
