Relatives report body of Thomas Lamb found

The family of missing pensioner Thomas Lamb have announced that his body has now been recovered.

Mr Lamb’s son, Thomas, posted on Facebook last night to say the body was found at Palacerigg yesterday, and thanked everyone who had helped with the search or expressed support for the family. He said: “My dad was found today at Palacerigg, he is at peace now and with my mum. I wish to thank everyone for the support we as a family received through the last few weeks it will never be forgotten, rest in peace dad love you.”

In response, hundreds have already posted message of condolence and support,

Recently widowed Mr Lamb, who was 79, vanished in Abronhill on Saturday, July 2 and a massive search operation involving the emergency services and hundreds of volunteers was launched when the disappearance was reported.

Police are yet to confirm other details regarding the discovery.
