The yobs trashed plants and smashed conifers against shop windows in last week’s wrecking spree.

One local volunteer expressed her shock and anger at the trail of destruction in the precinct.

Ina Cameron said: “I would like to say how annoyed and upset I was when I arrived in the village on the morning
of Wednesday, October 14 to volunteer for Milngavie in Bloom.

“Plants had been uprooted from the planters in Station Road, conifers had been hurled against shop fronts and there was compost strewn all over the place.

“Only two days prior to this, three ladies took four hours in the pouring rain to plant up the planters.

“This work is happily done for the residents of Milngavie whom we know appreciate the displays.

“The displays have now been replanted and hopefully will remain so. “

Police are investigating. Anyone with any information at all regarding the incident is asked to contact officers
on 101.
