Violence flared in late night emergency in Kilsyth

A lockdown disturbance in Kilsyth has led to two arrests.

The incident occured  on Friday (February 12),  around 11.30pm at an address in the town’s Mid Barrwood Road.

Here, officers found a small gathering of people who were breaching Covid-19 restrictions.

However, the matter did not end there when two males aged 22 and 28 became threatening and abusive to officers.

They were then arrested but violently resisted arrest prompting a call for back-up.

Both were held in custody  to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court for a variety of disorder offences and for breaching lockdown regulations. 

Thankfully police only received minor injuries in this incident.
