At around 10pm, the elderly man was within the property when he was disturbed by a woman who then seriously assaulted him with a weapon at the front door.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
She is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow (Monday, 12 August) and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
