Women threatened in latest Bothwell break-in

Masked raiders threatened two women after forcing their way in a house in Bothwell on Saturday (November 21) – before robbing them.

Police have confirmed that the terrifying incident took place in upmarket Glebe Hollow around 5.30pm in what is the latest of a series of robberies in the village we have reported on.

The women, who were 49 and 59 years old, were confronted by three men who were wearing disposable face masks.

The trio ransacked the house and stole a three figure sum.

They left in a grey/silver coloured Audi A3 saloon.

It is believed the robbery may have been targeted.

Detective Constable Ruth Whyte, of Cambuslang CID, said: “The occupants of the house are understandably shaken but were not seriously injured during the incident.

“We have carried out door to door and CCTV enquiries and are now appealing for the public’s help.

“I would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident, saw a vehicle matching the description or people acting suspiciously around the area to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 2902.”

Last month we told how a house in Blantyre Road was robbed of a six figure sum of jewellery on Tuesday, October 6.

A home in Fairways also fell prey to a robbery in September when high-value luxury items and cash were snatched. Goods taken included a wallet and vanity cases by Louis Vuitton plus a Chopard watch.
