Cumbernauld course’s “Seve” day a huge success

CHARITY was the name of the game as golfing fans and sports personalities joined to raise money in honour of the late Seve Ballesteros.

Real Radio presenter and ex-Scotland goalie, Alan “Roughy” Rough was among the guests who took part in a charity golf tournament which helped to raise thousands of pounds for both the Seve Ballesteros Foundation and the Scottish Spina Bifida Association.

Golfing legend Seve, who died in May, designed the Westerwood course, his first in the UK.

The Scottish Spina Bifida Association is the local charity partner of Westerwood which also benefited from the day.

Club member Jim McGinty said: “It was a fantastic day.”
