Cumbernauld driver has windscreen shattered by louts on footbridge

Police have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses after a motorist had his windscreen smashed by thugs who threw a heavy object from a flyover spanning Glenhove Road to Tarbolton Road.

The terrifying incident took place at 3.45pm on Tuesday, August 2.

Thankfully the motorist, a 29-year-old from Cumbernauld was unhurt.

Police have admitted that they have been dealing with a spate of these incidents, mainly in the area that links Carbrain and Kildrum.

And they have stressed that this dangerous conduct could easily claim the life of a motorist, passenger or a pedestrian.

In this latest incident, the victim told police that he saw a trio of three youths on the flyover, who ranged in age from 10 to 14.
