Cumbernauld food firm’s success
A household name frozen food chain headquartered in Cumbernauld has seen massive early-year sales growth.
Industry analysts say the 320-stores company, run from Greens Road, is much smaller than major rivals like Morrison’s or Tesco, but its sales nevertheless rocketed nearly 44 per cent in the 12 weeks to February 2, while theirs’ fell.
Major shareholder Eric Herd is said to spend considerable time touring individual stores.
