Cumbernauld High organise maths fun day

PUPILS in fourth year at Cumbernauld High School recently had a highly successful and enjoyable day at Cumbernauld Primary School when they visited to supervise at a maths fun day organised for primary 5/6.

Younger pupils were challenged by a wide variety of mathematical activities and the competition culminated in a relay activity where the teams were challenged to answer as many mathematic questions as possible against the clock.

Twenty four teams competed against each other to win best house team and achieve the accolade of overall competition winner.

The event was voted a great success by all who participated and it is planned that it will become an annual event on both the primary and high school calendars.

The overall winning team and proud holders of the Maths Challenge P5/6 Shield were Abbie Wandrum, Anthony Young, Lee Gilchrist, Amy Wilson and Christephe Wright from Sycamore House.
