Cumbernauld Post Office spends £2.36 to make just £1

POST Office bosses have shed more light on their controversial plans to move Cumbernauld’s main post office to another premises.

It has emerged that the branch is losing cash and is the only one in North Lanarkshire to be considered for a shift. The company now wants to find a shop which can house it.

A Post Office Ltd spokesperson said: “Cumbernauld Post Office is losing money. It costs us £2.36 to generate every £1 of income. Partnering with a retailer will help us save costs while still providing the same level of service for the area.
