Cumbernauld woman to star in hit television series

A Cumbernauld woman will be taking part in a special Burns Night version of the smash hit show Come Dine With Me next Monday.

Leona Skimming (34) who is originally from Greenfaulds is one of the competitors in the popular show which will be broadcast at 5pm.

The former Our Lady’s High School pupil is now lives in a flat in Glasgow’s West End is taking part in the show where four cooks vie with each other to rustle up the highest rated feast.

But a slap-up meal inspired by Rabbie himself is not all Leona brought to the table.

Being a professional singer with her own company, Leona Marie Entertainments, she also shared her vocal talents with her guests on the evening as an extension of what she so ably does at wedding and tribute nights!

Leona admitted: “I would say I am a better hostess than a cook!”

When pressed for the outcome of the show which sees one lucky competitor walk away with £1000, Leona told us she cannot give anything away as she has been sworn to secrecy.

She then added:“Basically the filming takes up a whole week of your life.

“I really enjoyed it and I got to meet people that I wouldn’t ordinarily have met. It was a lot of fun.’’

The show itself has become a cult favourite and has also made a star out of caustic-tongued Dave Lamb who provides off-camera asides to the action in the kitchen and dining table alike!
