Deanpark kids take over the club

Shawlands nursery Deanpark is taking over The Shed for two days of festive fun and partying.

The nursery has free use of the nightclub, its disco lights, smoke machine and decks for both its annual Christmas party and nativity play after owner Michele Pagliocca agreed to hand over the keys in true festive spirit.

Nicola Corr, team leader at Deanpark Nursery, said: “We’re thrilled — the venue is a great size and with the disco lights and music, the kids will have an absolute ball.

“Following the generosity of Michele last year we didn’t want to approach him for this year, so to have him contact the nursery and offer the venue for free was a welcome surprise.”

Michele explained: “It’s not all about our nightclub - over the past four years The Shed has grown into a multi-purpose venue and I’m delighted to offer it to our friends and neighbours at Deanpark.”

Langside councillor Anna Richardson praised the venue for opening its doors for free, commenting: “It’s refreshing and demonstrates a great sense of community.

“It also puts a smile on your face, thinking of all the little ones partying away on the dancefloor.”

The festive fun continues at the venue from December 18, when TRAM Direct Theatre Company takes to the stage for its seasonal panto, Aladdin — but until then, it’s over to Deanpark’s young clubbers to welcome in Christmas.
