Delves Park rally
Councillor Ed Archer is inviting people to walk the disputed right-of-way from Delves Road to Lanark’s Castlegate this Friday at 11am.
The path runs round the perimeter of Delves Park, from below the Glenmuir factory, but part of it at the Castlegate end in recent times has been closed off with a gate, and that stretch in the last month has been upgraded, apparently to form an access to a house-building site below the park.
As reported previously, at one point last month South Lanarkshire Council dumped large boulders at the entrance to stop construction traffic using the path.
Councillor Archer is adamant that it is a right-of-way, and he is hoping for a large turnout of walkers on Friday.
