'˜Dentist to the stars' from Newlands found dead in Eaglesham

Police told the Extra Jamie Newland’s body was discovered on Greenfield Hill on Moor Road, Eaglesham, at around 8.45pm on Friday evening.

His family reportedly raised the alarm when he failed to return home.

The 39-year-old lived in Newlands with his wife Amy and baby daughter, and ran the Berkeley Clinic cosmetic dentistry practice in Glasgow’s West End.

His clients reportedly included stars including Paolo Nutini, Robert Carlyle and Miss Scotland finalists.

A police spokeswoman said: “There appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
