Disability access meeting

A public meeting is being held to get residents' views on increasing the number of wheelchair accessible vehicles in East Renfrewshire.

The council wants to hear ideas and suggestions from as many people as possible on the issue.

Over the years a range of measures have been introduced to try to increase the number of wheelchair accessible taxis and private hires, including waiving licence fees.

And now it has also been announced as part of the 2017/18 budget set last week that £10,000 is being set aside to further support increasing the number of disability friendly taxis in East Renfrewshire.

The public meeting is at Williamwood High School at 6.45pm on Tuesday, February 28. If you are not able to attend but still want to contribute your ideas then email [email protected] with any comments.
