Doctor swaps surgery for the stage

Lenzie doctor Brendan Lynch is swapping his stethoscope for the theatre this month.

The part-time actor has landed the leading role of Boston police detective Lt Frank Cioffi in murder mystery musical comedy ‘Curtains’ at Eastwood Park Theatre in Giffnock from May 10-14.

The show, being presented by Runway Theatre Company, is a send-up of backstage murder plots, set in 1959 Boston, Massachusetts. It traces the fallout when the supremely untalented star of Robbin’ Hood of the Old West is murdered during her opening night curtain call.

It is up to Lt. Frank Cioffi, a police detective who moonlights as a musical theatre fan to save the show.
