Doing it for the Kidney Kids

Seven kind-hearted staff from North Lanarkshire Council have raised over £1500 for a children's charity after taking part in a charity run.

‘Team NL’ took to the streets in the 5k Donor Run at this year’s British Transplant Games, in Liverpool, in aid of Kidney Kids Scotland.

The charity supports Scottish hospitals supplying them with much needed equipment and funding for posts recognised as being essential. Since July 2000 the charity has given away over £1.5m

Rosalyn Griffith, Community Engagement Officer, was among those who took part. She explained: “The British Transplant Games are coming to North Lanarkshire next year and we thought it would be a good idea to use the donor run to raise money for Kidney Kids, which takes a team from across Scotland to compete in the event each year.

“I’d like to thank everyone for supporting the cause and taking part either by participating or by making a donation.”
