Don't be bored this summer - head to Mugdock Country Park!

There's loads to do at Mugdock Country Park this summer with fun outdoor activities to suit all ages.

Children aged eight to 12 will have great fun learning the survival skill of how to build a shelter and try their hand at damming a stream.

They will join the Ranger Service to explore the deepest, darkest parts of Mugdock Wood – no parents required! On Friday, July 22 from 10.30am – 12pm or 1.30pm – 3pm.

Children aged 8-12 could also take part in a wildlife exploration on Thursday, August 4 from 10.30am – 12pm or 1.30pm – 3pm.

They will join the Ranger Service to explore ponds and woods, find new animals and new places. Booking essential for both activities, call 0141 956 6100. Cost £5 each.

Children accompanied by parents can also learn how to net a nymph on Tuesday, July 26 from 2pm – 3.30pm.

Kids can try to catch a little fish, a damselfly nymph or a midge larvae. To find the pond and the Ranger follow the signs from the visitor centre. All nets and equipment supplied. Donations welcome.

Adults/families will enjoy a Ranger led walk through time in the park to find out more about it’s history including a 13th century castle to WWII gunsites and a 1950’s zoo. This is on Saturday, July 23 from 10.30pm – 12pm. Meet at the Visitor Centre. Cost £3.

There will also be a Ranger led walk along the Canal and Kelvin, Bearsden on Wednesday, August 3 at 11.30am.

This is an hour long, mostly level and not strenuous. Minibus transport is available from Lennoxtown or meet at the walk start. Booking essential, call 0141 956 6100. Cost £3.
