Douglasdale Players open 37th show tonight

Douglasdale Players take to the stage this week with their annual show, Jack and the Beanstalk.

This is their 37th show, and still has all the enthusiasm of the first!

There is all you would expect from the Douglas panto, with loads of humour, dance routines, and songs ranging from well known numbers such as Caledonia to the latest hits.

The cast ranges in age from 8 to over 80 – 82-year-old Ed Bartram also helped with the scenery, while Margaret Bain who did all the props including the wedding cake is in her 80s.

Jack is played by Jennifer Goodwin; Minnie her widowed mother by Kerr Findlay; Winnie her widowed pal by Moira Thomson; Jill by Lynsey McLeod; and Dr Robert Flowerdew is the baron. The producer is Karen MacMillan.

Jack and the Beanstalk runs in Douglas Primary School from tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm until Saturday. Tickets are £5 from 01555 851708
