Eaglesham kids collect for Sustainable Santa

The Amey Sustainable Santa paid a visit to Eaglesham Primary recently in a bid to recycle unwanted toys for children in need.

The company has been hard at work this Christmas, collecting 2.2 tonnes of toys, books, games and comics and donating them to Scottish Women’s Aid, Scottish Refugee Council, St Andrew’s Hospice and Good Green Fun.

Amey’s Santa has also been documenting collections across the country with a series of elfies for the @SETrunkRoads Twitter page.

Stewart Meikle, commercial director of AmeyCespa, said: “The response to the campaign has been phenomenal and the generosity of pupils, parents and staff in Eaglesham has been nothing short of extraordinary.

“I’m delighted these toys have been rescued from the rubbish tip and will be able to bring joy and happiness to many disadvantaged children.”
