East Ren walk leaders wanted

THE search is on for local walkers to lead walking groups in East Renfrewshire.

The one-day walk leader training will be free, equipping volunteers with the knowledge to either set up a new walking group or lead an existing one.

East Ren’s CHCP health improvement team will provide ongoing support.

Councillor Alan Lafferty, convener for social work and health, said: “We are looking to help people set up or access walking groups across East Ren.

“Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier.

“It’s ideal for people of all ages and fitness levels who want to be more active.”
