Eastwood rally to Ken’s call

Eastwood MSP, Ken Macintosh, has thanked everyone who generously donated to his Christmas collection, Eastwood Cares.

The MSP said he was touched by the generosity as he delivered the toys collected to Barnardo’s.

Commenting further Ken said: “I was not surprised but I was still touched to see the generous response from local residents in Eastwood to our children’s Christmas gift collection.

“We only ran the present and gift drive for a relatively short time, but people went out of their way to hand us donations, toys and even money to pass on to Barnardo’s.

“Christmas is a delightful time of year for most families, a time of worship for many and a celebration of giving, but we also know that too many people and too many children miss out on the love and sense of belonging we would want them to feel.

“I want to thank Barnardo’s for the service they provide to children all year round and the people of Eastwood for their warmth and generosity. I’d also like to wish everyone a very happy New Year.”
