The drop in will take place from 2-7.30pm at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, and the information gathered will be presented to Ravenscraig Ltd to be considered as part of the revised masterplanning process.

The council is keen ensure the community has a chance to put its views forward at an early stage in the process.

Councillor Paul Kelly, depute leader, said: “Although the council does not own the Ravenscraig site, we feel it’s vital the community have a say on what they would like.

“For years we have been trying hard to develop the site, but have met with many setbacks either through court cases or the recession.

“The review is timely, as changes within the Scottish economy may offer opportunities to influence the thinking around the masterplan and investment programme.

“It’s important that local communities participate and have a voice and I’d encourage people to come along and share their views.”

Ravenscraig Ltd director Nick Davies added: “It is our intention to develop a masterplan that considers the needs of the local community, the Scottish economy and the joint venture partners.

“We welcome the opinion of the individuals and businesses, along with other stakeholders.”
