Council wants your views on Westerton Play Area

The views of residents are being sought on a number of parks and play areas in Bishopbriggs and Bearsden.

East Dunbartonshire Council is looking for feedback on Bishopbriggs Public Park, Meadowburn North (at Hilton Terrace, Bishopbriggs) and Westerton Play Area in Bearsden.

Residents are being asked to have their say by completing a short survey which will help inform any future opportunities the Council might pursue to increase the quality of the parks for residents and the wider community.

The Council’s Depute Chief Executive, Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets, Thomas Glen, said: "To ensure we are offering the highest standard to our communities, we are asking residents to tell us what they like and dislike about the existing parks.

"We want as many people as possible to have their say by taking part in a quick survey which became available on the Council's website on Monday 26 April.

"All information gathered will be collated and analysed and then used to inform future park project upgrades and strategic development for recreation."

Meanwhile, Mavis Valley Household Waste Recycling Centre has now returned to normal summer operating hours.

Following on from the Scottish Governments further easing of travel restrictions, the site is now open Monday to Friday from 8am to 7.30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6.30pm with restrictions and strict site management in place.

Traffic management will continue to be in place in order to control traffic flow on Balmuildy Road.

The Council’s Depute Chief Executive, Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets, Thomas Glen, said: "The site has been consistently busy throughout the lockdown period and the changes recently has resulted in exceptional demand placed on the recycling centre.

"The need for physical distancing remains in place and there is no change to number of vehicles able to access the site at one time. We're also working to develop and introduce an online booking system.”
