APSE Chief Executive Paul O’Brien said: “The winners and finalists of these awards are proof that, despite the squeeze of austerity and continuous budget cuts, local councils can still offer excellent frontline services that successfully serve their communities.

Councillor Michael McPake, Convener of the Environmental Services Committee, said: “To win twice in two years shows our commitment to not just maintaining the level of service, but listening to the public and continuously improving how we address local issues that matter to residents, such as dog fouling, litter, food hygiene and flytipping.”
