Police in Bearsden inundated with calls after escaped cattle refuse to ‘moove’ for traffic

Police were inundated with ‘udderly bizarre’ calls on Monday morning.

Four Fresian cows were spotted by motorists at various locations in Bearsden - at Asda car park, outside Vets 4 Pets and on Milngavie Road.

At one point, they just wouldn’t ‘moove’ for traffic at the junction with Boclair Road.

Local police said they received around eight calls in quick succession, with the first at around 4.45am on Monday.

It is understood that the cattle escaped from a field at Boclair Farm.

The farmer was informed and came as soon as he could to round them up and take them safely home.
