Enya Ruddy, a pupil at Holy Cross Primary School, scooped top prize for her entry in the Animal Guardians contest.

Her stag design will be used to publicise the new education programme being used as an additional resource that aims to help break the cycle between animal cruelty and violent crime.

The Scottish SPCA’s Gilly Mendes Ferreira said: “We were inundated with entries, but Enya’s logo really stood out.”

The Ruddy family are being invited to Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, where Enya will be able to choose to Sponsor a Space and receive updates for a year about her chosen animal enclosure. Her school has also been sent a Scottish SPCA goodie bag.
