ERGC bags some support from A Bientôt

East Renfrewshire Good Causes is celebrating a cash boost as one local shop pledges all its five pences to the charity.

Following new nationwide legislation on carrier bags, Newton Mearns boutique A Bientôt will be donating every 5p collected from sales to East Ren Good Causes, which funds good deeds for the area’s most vulnerable.

Charity founder Russell Macmillan told The Extra: “I would like to say a massive thank you to Debbie Stewart and her team at A Bientôt.

“I hope other East Ren businesses will follow this great example, and help us all to pull together and love our own neighbours.

“We attempt to help by providing goods and services, to try and care about those living among us, often unseen behind closed doors, in our own street.

“If every local business followed this example, we could transform more lives in our community.”

Debbie, of A Bientôt, added: “It’s great to know that all the carrier bag charges paid by our loyal customers will be going to helping local people who need a hand.”
