Councillor Alan Moir, Convener of the Council’s Development & Regeneration Committee, said: “I am delighted we are able to support Christmas switch-on events again in our town centres.

“Extremely challenging financial circumstances mean we have been unable to directly fund the events as such but we have provided as much support as possible.

“The events are a great way for the community to come together.

“It’s perfect timing as the switch-on events come days after Scotland’s Towns Week - which aims to support, unite and inspire town centres across the country.
