Feast for all the family to enjoy

CALLING all foodies — feastRen is back for its fifth year, and making its mark on Rouken Glen Park.

The food festival kicks off from September 7, with local businesses offering deals in the run up to the main festival weekend, September 21 and 22.

The big event has moved from Eastwood to Rouken Glen, taking with it television stars, top chefs — and a (semi) naked one too.

Jacqueline O’Donnell will host proceedings, and describes the scene as “a beautiful bespoke food festival village, just in front of the Pavilion”.

She’ll be joined by demonstrating chefs John Quigley, Ryan James, Seumas MacInnes, Guy Cowan and Iain Brown, as well as Jewish cook Hilary Harris.

Street food vendors Scoop and Babu Bombay Kitchen will be dishing up food on the go, alongside the producers market and arts and crafts stalls.

Entertainer Tom McShane (the camp chef) and River City star Libby McArthur will also be on hand, as well as The Half Naked Chef, just back from a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival.
