Village gala attendants will do the honours of switching on the lights during a fun-packed day.

Before the big switch-on , a Christmas Fair will be held at Moor Park, organised by the local gala committee.

Young and old can enjoy a day of festive fun with
numerous stalls, games and a
special visit from Santa Claus himself at 12pm.

A children’s choir will also be in full voice along with members of local church choirs to sing carols around the Christmas tree, accompanied by Croy Miners Silver Band.

Local councillor John McLaren said: “Everyone has worked so hard to bring this about.

“We haven’t had a Christmas tree here for 40 years and the community joined together to raise the money.

“A big welcome to all local villagers wishing to
attend. The event will run from
10 30am-5pm.

“The gala committee and myself would like to thank everyone who donated to the event.

“Local businesses will be given a Christmas Tree card to display in their doorway or shop window to say they supported the tree.”

North Lanarkshire Council has also supplied new
Christmas lights for the village this year.
