Firefighters tackles blaze at Bearsden school

A blaze broke out at a Bearsden school last night (Thursday).

Emergency services rushed to Colquhoun Park Primary School at Canniesburn Road around 6.20pm.

The blaze is understood to have started in a hut in the grounds used by P1 at the school.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said this morning (Friday, June 12): “We were alerted at 6.20pm on Thursday, June 11 to reports of a fire in a shed outside Colquhoun Park Primary School, Canniesburn Road, Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene, where crews worked to extinguish the fire.

“Firefighters left after making the area safe.”

It is not yet known how the fire started.
