Fireworks attack

A police officer has narrowly avoided serious injury after being struck by a firework on Cedar Road, Bishopbriggs.

The incident happened at around 8.40pm last night (Wednesday) after police were called to the area after several reports of youths setting off fireworks.

It’s alleged that when officers attended the disturbance the youths began aiming the fireworks at them.

One officer sustained minor injuries after being hit directly.

Four males, aged between 16, 19 and two at 23 years of age were arrested in connection to the incident.
