Football funding to promote inclusion

Glasgow care-at-home provider, Community Care Choice, headquartered in Shawlands, has put its weight behind Giffnock United, an initiative by Giffnock Soccer Centre to help those with disabilities to become involved with football.

£1,277 donated by Community Care Choice will provide the team with Giffnock United training strips, football strips and hoodies.

Ryan Quinn, football development officer at Giffnock Soccer Centre, said: “We have always had a policy of inclusion and this money will help provide training strips and football strips that will give the boys a sense of belonging to the team.”

Managing Director of Community Care Choice, Joeanne Hamilton, said: “It is a tremendous opportunity for those with disabilities to get involved in the team spirit of football.”
