Fresh appeal after Bearsden woman (80) dies in horror road accident yesterday (Thursday)

Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses after yesterday’s (Thursday) fatal road accident at Bearsden.

An 80-year-old woman died after being struck by a car around 12pm on Spiers Road.

Officers said a white Citroen Relay Panel Van was involved in the accident.

Emergency services attended, however the elderly lady was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed until 4.15pm whilst enquiries were carried out.

Road Policing Sergeant Jon Mochan said: “We are supporting the woman’s family at this incredibly difficult time.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision. I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

“I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash cam footage which could help with our investigation.”

Information can be provided to Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1484 of 28 May.
