The latest crime reports from police in Cumbernauld.

A 24-year-old man was due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday after being allegedly found in possession of a large quantity of Class A drugs. The discovery was made by police after the vehicle was stopped on the M80 at Cumbernauld at around 10pm on Thursday, June 27.

Cumbernauld police are investigating two separate vandalism incidents. A double glazed window was vandalised at St Marys Primary. The window was smashed sometime between 4pm on Friday, June 28, and 9pm the following day. A window at St Mungos Church was also vandalised sometime between 8pm on Friday, June 28 and 4pm the following day.

Police in Cumbernauld are investigating the theft of two cars from the same street in the town. The cars - an Audi and a Mazda - were both coloured white. They were taken from Greenfinch Avenue. Police believe the thefts occurred at around 3.30am on Saturday, June 29.

A 27-year-old was due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday following an incident in Moodiesburn. Police say the appearance is after an incident on the evening of Saturday, June 29 in Blackwoods Crescent where a 47-year-old male was allegedly assaulted.

Police are again advising motorists to keep their vehicles secure at all times. This warning comes after reports of cars being targeted within the northern corridor area. Police inquiries have shown, the targeted vehicles have either been insecure or have had valuables left within.
