As usual Main Street will be closed to traffic throughout the Bank Holiday weekend on May 28-30 as the town hosts stalls, fairground ride and a variety of entertainment from 10am-10pm.

Organised by Bellshill Community Council, this year’s fair will be officially opened on Saturday at 11am by Colin MacFarlane of YMCA Scotland.

Entertainment will be provided by Bellshill Salvation Army Band and Bellshill & District Concert Brass with a wide variety of fairground rides provided by M&D Events. On Sunday the stalls and rides will remain with three dance groups performing in James Dempsey Way - Carol McLean Dance Dynamics Cheer Squad, Nadia Brown Dance Academy Street Crew, and Leanne Bence Signature Dance Squad.

For the first time M&D Events has also arranged a farmers market with stalls on the Sunday and the final day, which will also host a fire appliance along with the rides.

Community council secretary Duncan McLeod said: “I can only hope for the weather to be kind to us over the weekend and that the public who turn out to support us all have a great time.”
