Get on down to the Campsie Show

The Campsie Show takes this weekend at Bogton Farm in Torrance.

This popular annual agricultural show, organised by Campsie, Strathblane and Baldernock Agricultural Society, is being held this Saturday, June 7.

This is always a great day out for all the family with loads of great things to see and do to keep all ages entertained.

There will be various cattle, sheep showing classes and wide variety of breeds, as well as light horses and showjumping, and there will also be a dog show - the judging starts at 2.30pm - register in the secretary’s tent from 12.30pm onwards.

The homecraft tent will feature competitions in baking, sewing for all ages (four years upwards) and the brand new men only baking class.

Elite Falconry will be there to show off their wonderful display of birds of prey and musical entertainment will be provided by the Jimmy Blair Accordion Orchestra, led by their musical director Gary Blair at 1.30pm on the trailer.

A pipe band will also be playing on the day and a parade will make it’s way to the event from Torrance, with the crowning of the Torrance Gala Queen at 12.30pm.

Local folk band, Inveroran, will be performing at 2.15pm and dancers from the Bonar School of Dance will be putting on a display for everyone.

For those who are interested in vintage vehicles there will be an fascinating display of old tractors and cars and there is loads to keep the children entertained.

It costs £6 for a car and driver on the day, £4 for an adult, £1 for children.
