Give blood and help to save lives in Scotland

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service is appealing for people to give blood to ensure that they continue to meet hospital requirements for blood and blood products.

Only five per cent of eligible people currently give blood in Scotland.

They are inviting local residents to donate blood when their mobile donating team will be in Cadder Freestone Social Club, Bishopbriggs, on September 21.

Donors can drop in between 2pm to 3.45pm and 5.15pm to 7.30pm.

A spokesperson for the Transfusion Service said: “We urgently need to attract more new and returning blood donors. Every day we need to welcome 1,000 blood donors in Scotland.

“Give blood and help us show patients they are not fighting alone.”
