Give blood to give life

Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) will be inviting your shoppers, visitors and residents to donate blood.

The mobile units will be at Montgomerie Hall, Gilmour Street, Eaglesham on Monday, August 10, from 4-7.30pm.

It will then transfer to Newton Mearns, Church of Broom, on Broom Road East on Wednesday, August 12 from 2-3-45pm and again from 5.15pm-7.30pm.

The Blood Transfusion Service needs 5,000 blood donors every week to meet the needs of patients in Scotland.

A spokesman said: ““Every minute of every day someone in Scotland receives blood as part of a life-saving or life-enhancing treatment.

“Only five per cent of the population are active blood donors.”
