Give your club a sporting chance

The Sports Council was established in 1996 to further the interests of all local sports clubs and organisations throughout the district and any who would like to attend will be made most welcome.

Any local sports club or organisation not yet a member of the Sports Council is also encouraged to come along to have their say and to enjoy the benefits that membership offers.

Affiliation to the Sports Council provides access to club, marketing and coaching grants for clubs and talented sport performer grants for individuals (subject to terms and conditions).

Sports Council chairman Lee Hemphill said: “By getting involved with Sport ED, there is an opportunity for clubs and their members to share knowledge, meet important local sports contacts, but more importantly access funding and get support for training, competitions and championships.

“It’s important for our clubs to get as much support as possible to ensure they are ready for any additional interest generated.”
