Glasgow pub anderson's launches dog-friendly Sunday roast
King Street venue, anderson’s pub + institute has teamed up with Barklove to offer a special Sunday roast for dogs.
Glasgow’s anderson’s pub + institute on King Street is bringing dogs to the Sunday lunch table with a new weekly canine roast. The launch event on Sunday 22 November, from 12pm to 3pm, will feature dog-friendly acoustic music as owners enjoy a traditional Sunday meal alongside their pets. The roast will be available every Sunday after the launch.
Head Chef Inesa, who brings experience from Michelin-starred Angler, has crafted The Good Dog Roast with the same attention to quality as the rest of anderson’s Sunday menu. The dish includes slow-roasted beef, sweet potato mash, roasted carrots, fresh greens, dog biscuits, and a bowl of water, prepared without the seasoning or gravy found on the traditional Sunday menu.
For human diners, anderson’s offers a signature Sunday menu featuring options such as the Sirloin Roast and Lorne Wellington, both priced at £20 and served with traditional accompaniments including mash, roasted potatoes, glazed carrots, greens, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy.
Inesa said: “We wanted to create something that feels like a traditional roast, made with the same care as everything else coming out of our kitchen, just made for pups. It’s been a lot of fun to cook – and we’ve had no complaints from our taste testers.”

Barklove, founded by Jenn Nimmo-Smith, first appeared in Glasgow in 2025 with a festival at SWG3 and returned in July 2026. The festival unites the dog-loving community through pet-focused shopping, wellbeing sessions, activities, and entertainment.
Jenn Nimmo-Smith, Founder of Barklove, said: “Dogs are such a big part of our lives, so why shouldn’t they get to enjoy a Sunday roast too? Barklove has always been about bringing people and their dogs together and creating experiences they can enjoy side by side.”
Looking ahead, Barklove is preparing for a festive season event, Barklove Barket, debuting at BAaD on Tuesday 8 December from 6pm to 10pm. This event will offer festive shopping and activities for dogs and their owners. Further festive events across Glasgow will be announced soon, alongside plans for Barklove’s return to SWG3 in 2027.
Tables for the launch event and subsequent Sunday roasts can be booked at andersonsglasgow.co.uk, where festive bookings are also being accepted from Wednesday 25 November until Thursday 24 December 2026.
