Manager Gary McCreadie said he was very proud of the awards and credited ex-manager Angie Gibson for winning them.

Unfortunately, Angie died on September 28 — a matter of weeks after she got married.

Gary told The Extra: “Not only did we get gold for the fourth year in a row, we got best training award also, which is fantastic,

“And it’s something that Angie would be so proud of as she was so happy to see staff go on these training events and just achieve more knowledge in the bar industry.

“Personally, I feel Angie was a massive part of this achievement — not only one but two awards: and we dedicate these awards to her.

“She was an amazing
manager for Armstrongs and will be sadly missed, though always remembered... always.

Councillor Bill Butler, Chair of Glasgow Licensing Board, said: “Glasgow’s thriving entertainment sector is a credit to the city’s licensees.

“It contributes hugely to Glasgow’s night-time economy and is enjoyed by visitors and residents alike.
