Good Causes boost down to Avenue shoppers

East Renfrewshire’s most vulnerable neighbours are £1,600 better off, thanks to shoppers at The Avenue.

The Newton Mearns shopping centre chose East Renfrewshire Good Causes as its charity partner for 2014, and this week confirmed a total of £1,602 raised throughout the year.

Good Causes founder Russell Macmillan told The Extra: “I would like to thank both The Avenue and the shoppers who have donated this money, which we’ll use to help the many deserving good causes within our area.

“ERGC looks to help the many and varied needs that arise within our neighbourhood, instead of focusing on specific topics or issues.

“We try and support cases brought to us by frontline professionals like teachers, nurses and social workers, and we are likely to work with any number of people using local businesses, which is why we get such great support from The Avenue and many others.”
