A thoughtful homeowner has created and donated a herb garden for the residents at the Campsie Grove retirement home complex in Bishopbriggs.

Professor John Stephenson constructed the garden, crammed with a variety of fresh herbs for all to use, from whisky barrels.

He said: “We moved here from the island of Islay and one of the things we had there was a beautiful herb garden. I thought it would be a great idea to have fresh herbs growing here at Campsie Grove so that everyone could enjoy the space we created, and use the herbs. And I’m delighted to see that it’s been such a great success.

“I’d like to offer my thanks to the staff of Caulders Garden Centre in Kirkintilloch for their assistance.”
